We are in an emerging, self-regulated industry where we Implement Our own cGMP Best Practices with the help of the American Kratom Association.
We are learning about the science behind kratom’s strange leaves.
We have been a part of the GMP program for 4 years and have been audited by an independent 3rd party. In 2019 we had the help of a professional company with re writing our standard operating procedures to be in line with dietary supplements.
Christopher’s Organic Botanicals criteria includes fine-tuned testing for kratom alkaloids and packaging and exposing for sale (on our website for purchase) only the best final products. With the help of the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA), we will be able to finally have standards in place for the industry.
We use a co packer and have in house testing and 3rd party lab testing for all of our products. We make sure that products released for sale are products that I would want to give my own 85 year old mother.
Quality control is of upmost importance to our company. We care about plants and herbs and want to provide the best herbs possible. We want you to feel like family when you shop at Christopher’s Organic Botanicals.
Purchasing pure kratom products is particularly important and so is proper serving sizes. Kratom Extracts, Kratom capsules, crushed kratom, and any new products should be tested for quality and purity prior to being released for sale.
Kratom vendors or any online businesses selling mitragyna speciosa should adhere to proper regulations. These businesses should have customer service in place to answer any customer questions regarding mitragyna speciosa.
Proper labeling and warnings should be on the packaging. Kratom sales should be limited to those over the age of 21 or 18 depending upon the jurisdiction. Herbs have been used for centuries and interactions do occur between herbs and certain medications.
As vendors it is our responsibility to ensure proper labeling is provided for safe use. Even if no safety profile has been created Yet! We must be the responsible vendors to lead the industry and show others how it should be done. This should be the new dawn in the kratom industry.
We thank the Kratom community for supporting Kratom. We are all very enthusiastic about this plant! We all have our differences and beliefs, but Kratom is what makes us come together for a common cause – like in the movie, A Leaf of Faith (Watch on Tubitv).
I was lucky to be a part of history on Kratom Day September 13th 2016. I thank the entire community for keeping Kratom Products available in the United States. Our Voices were heard, and We need to make them heard again!
Trying to explain how Mitragyna Speciosa and its alkaloids work can be mind boggling. Growing Kratom or any other Large fast-growing Shade Tree takes time. One mature kratom tree can contain up to 20 kgs – which is a numerous amount of leaves with different alkaloid profiles!
That means the blending of a large tree full of leaves would give a blended alkaloid profile. We would have to study each leaf individually and mark it accordingly.
We would then have to evaluate many leaves on the same tree to see the variables. Study of the Human endocannabinoid system combined with the study of the Southeast Asia Kratom tree has shown wonderful results in the scientific community. Mature Trees are where We want to get our Kratom!
Baby trees do not contain elevated levels of Mitragynine or high levels of other alkaloids. Old tree kratom is higher quality. Not to say that a 2-year-old tree will not have any Mitragynine, but older trees have higher levels of ALL alkaloids and less will be needed.
The kratom alkaloid test gives a snapshot of that batch. This percentage does not indicate the exact percentage on the label. This is also true in the cannabis industry, where in New Jersey I can go to a dispensary and see the same test results on a package of top flower as on a package of ready to roll (“shake”).
How can that be? Obviously, nobody is evaluating each individual package. This is called a representative kratom sample. Representative of the batch or lot of kratom Products. We do not produce large batches, so this helps maximize results.
Lab tests for kratom powders and products in still evolving and testing facilities have been changing to be in line with standardized testing. Testing kratom for precise plant composition is expensive to begin with in every industry, so we want to have a standardized method that we can all agree upon.
Testing each package would require enormous price increases that are not sustainable. Every full panel test for Kratom costs $500 for a full battery of kratom testing. This is why a representative sample is taken and then another sample is taken before the products are released for sale.
Therefore, we take core samples, random samples and blended samples taken from each batch of kratom!
We see that the results for Kratom Alkaloids Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine vary from test to test. Each testing facility uses a different parameter and testing method. Using the same Laboratory, we still see the Kratom Alkaloids vary. Remember that the word Maeng da kratom does not necessarily mean the highest alkaloid content.
All natural plants are dependent upon the individual. That is why we do not really see an accurate kratom dose guide. kratom dosage will vary from person to person. Most people start off with 2 grams and see how that works.
The science behind kratom is still emerging. The University of Florida is leading the way in this research. We are happy to financially support the University of Florida and the research that they are providing.
The kratom alkaloid percentage on the package may vary slightly from package to package. Keep in mind that this is a natural plant that has variables.
Just like the cannabis plant and the industrial hemp plant, alkaloids are affected by drying methods and growing techniques. The drying methods make the alkaloids work and feel differently. There are many farmers with many different techniques for drying and harvesting kratom.
Alkaloid testing is still in its infancy right now and it will get more accurate as time goes on, but just remember that with any natural plant alkaloids will vary. I am excited that we are now testing for four alkaloids and figuring out how this plant works!
Kratom is being studied for our pets too! I use this plant daily and depend on it to get out of bed in the morning. I am also a registered medical marijuana patient and that helps my pain relief too! Some people ask me: Why both plants?
They work in diverse ways in my body. I use cannabis more at nighttime for sleep, and CBD and Kratom during the day. This is the best way that I have found to ensure I do not have to go back to pain management.
My saddest days were when I was in My 20’s and using Cannabis illegally to manage pain. Scared every day that I was going to get hurt at work and fail a urine screen. Even though I never used Cannabis at work, the way cannabis urine testing works is by detecting metabolites in the urine from prior use.
These metabolites can stay in a person’s system and be detectable for up to 90 days. Not a terrific way of detecting current cannabis use.
Urine tests or drug tests in general will have to improve since many people are using Cannabis legally now. NJ Legalize has the best up to date Cannabis news for the local cannabis industry in New Jersey!
I will post anything new going on with kratom science and the changes We will be making along the way. Thank you and God Bless the Kratom & Cannabis Community!
We had some studies on Sample records for kratom alkaloid speciociliatine. We will update future studies on this page.
