Christopher’s Personal Kratom Story

My Kratom Story

My name is Christopher and I discovered Kratom in 2015. Below, I wanted to share a little bit about my backstory, along with the founding principles of our company. I hope this will provide some insight into my passion for helping people and pets with natural products, like Kratom, and that you will not hesitate to reach out with questions – or to share your kratom story as well!

Kratom products from Southeast Asia contain alkaloids. Kratom alkaloids are what is responsible for the effects of kratom. Kratom is herbal traditional medicine in Southeast Asia.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

I was looking for other avenues in my struggle to maintain a functioning, less stressful lifestyle. Kratom has been one of those plants that I wish I would have known about years ago. I was hit by a car at 8 years old while crossing the street, and that began the problematic life that I know today. Between 8 and 13 I went through about forty dislocations of my knees, requiring my first surgery at 13 and second at 22.

I did drink alcohol to help with pain relief, but as we know alcohol and kratom do not mix. Kratom actually takes the desire to drink alcohol away for many people. Let’s just say that I haven’t drank alcohol in almost 2 decades.

Most people have no idea what is is like to live in pain daily. My pain is usually the worst when I wake up in the morning, or after doing strenuous activities. When I wake up in the morning my goal is to get out of pain so I can get on with my day. It is not a life I would wish on my worst enemy.

I was prescribed multiple medications for pain growing up. One such pain killer I remember taking as a teenager was Demerol tablets. I was in severe pain and have had a high tolerance to most drugs since an early age. I continued with strong pain management throughout my teens and twenties.

It is not much fun going through life as a child not being able to join in with the rest of the reindeer games. I sat on the sidelines in gym most of my school years. I learned early that there are plenty of other things to do for fun besides physical activity.

I learned nutrition and how to write up diet plans and exercise schedules. Since I was not doing the actual physical activity in school, I was required to write about it.

I became a couch commando for a few years in between surgeries and ended up gaining about sixty pounds in a 3-year period between the ages of 12-15. This is when most of my surgeries and dislocations were the worst.

I did however start to exercise around 16 years of age after surgeries were complete and I had a few years in between the next surgery. I lost 60 pounds and learned how to use my own body weight to gain muscle and tone up a bit.

I have always had a belly even as a kid, so that is always going to be my friend till the end. I was in a pain management plan and physical therapy. Pain management required me to take increased amounts of pills, which I know was the protocol back in the day.

Opiate pain medicines and pain medications are not used in high doses anymore and only used for short term purposes. This is a good thing and a dreadful thing at the same time. Chronic pain patients need to have pain relievers to stop the pain, but not everyone needs a bottle of Vicodin for a toothache or acute pain. We need to find a happy medium!

Update! -There has been new guidance on how pain patients should be prescribed opiates. Hopefully the new opioid guidelines will assist many people who are suffering.

I am not anti-opiate or anti pain pills. I am anti people living in pain.

Being prescribed opiates at an early age of eight was an issue for me and caused numerous side effects throughout the years. I had a severe withdrawal symptom by the time I was in my early twenties. Alcohol and opiates were great for pain relief since options for pain management were limited for me at that time. If cannabis were never banned in 1937, we would see a lot less harm today than we have seen by opiates/alcohol in our nation. (At least for me personally this is the case.) At 36, I had a heart attack and had two stents placed.

There is a place for pharmaceutical pain management in a health care setting, but some people either do not have health insurance or just cannot afford the medications. I personally know that natural plants can help us live a better quality of life, but they are not a replacement for severe chronic pain management treatments.

In 2017 I had a few health scares that got my attention. I was first diagnosed with aggressive squamous cell carcinoma or skin cancer. During the period of a few months from when I got diagnosed with skin cancer to when I had surgery, I had a cold where I was coughing a lot. Over a period of 4 weeks, I broke 5 ribs from just coughing. Non traumatic rib fractures are what they called them, and it took a long time for my ribs to heal.

I included my body scan to show the black areas of deterioration over the years and to show 3 of the broken ribs in 2017.

I was diagnosed in September 2017 and had surgery January 2018. My ribs broke between October and November 2017. It was not until I had the squamous cell surgery that my ribs started to really heal. I had one rib re brake after I sneezed. I mean this was some of the worse pain I have ever endured, and Nobody could give a diagnosis as to why this is happening.

In 2018 after my surgery, I went and spoke with another doctor that diagnosed me with osteopenia, or weak bones. Most probable cause was using opioids since childhood for pain management. I needed the pain relief as a child, but it came at a cost years later.

However, my life has improved dramatically since alcohol and pain killers are no longer part of it. I do not plan on ever taking anything unnatural, besides an occasional Aleve, unless it is necessary for surgery. I can finally maintain my ability to get out of bed and function daily, because of Kratom and cannabis. I will always do what I can to make sure that people know about these natural options.

Plants were put here for a reason. It is up to us to find out what these plants do and how these plants work. Nothing is here by accident on this earth, and we need to find out what we can use around us to live a better life. Before Big Pharma God was our Pharmacist and I will always trust what God has put on this earth for us to use!

Christopher’s Organic Botanicals Company Vision

This company was built in 2015 on the foundation that quality tested products should be available to everyone. Now, we have heard a lot from customers and vendors over the past few years about quality, pricing, and testing issues within the industry. All I can say about pricing is that the price should reflect the necessary requirements to process and package these products. This includes testing, packaging, and general overhead. We will always do what we can to cut costs, but we will never cut corners.

We have been able to purchase a bit larger amount of kratom powder. By making a larger purchase we are able lower the cost a bit across the board. Air freight is always the biggest cost for kratom shipments. We are doing our best to bring you the best quality kratom that we can find and make sure that the kratom is affordable.

Now, Kratom testing is nothing new, but the technology is expanding. We are now testing for five kratom alkaloids and they are now listed on our Kratom testing results page. All kratom testing results are listed within the product description and are readily available.

The three new kratom alkaloids we are testing for are Paynantheine, Speciogynine, and Speciociliatine. These three kratom alkaloids have a lot of potential. We will continue to keep everyone informed as we learn more and test for different kratom alkaloids as the technology becomes available. We will continue to be on the front lines of the industry, making available anything new we learn along the way.

Within the cannabis plant, there are a lot of other variables besides THC and CBD. We often tend to focus on those two compounds. Terpenes are a huge reason cannabis works the way it does – it is not just the plants with the highest THC content. The same goes for any natural plant and Kratom is no exception to this rule.

The highest Mitragynine content does not mean the best and strongest kratom. There are many variables to kratom and how kratom alkaloids work synergistically with each other.

God Bless the Kratom Community. We have taken steps to ensure this plant is accessible to everyone. We are Kratom Warriors and have never backed down!

I would also like to add that the blogs written on my website are written by me (Christopher) unless otherwise specified as a guest post. I want to be able to share what I have learned about kratom in my own voice.
